Best Answer: I don't wish to alarm you, but the State of Georgia came knocking on my door looking for you.

Actually, I can think of no reason why owing this would remain on your record once you've paid it off. Once you pay the state, be sure to contact your credit bureau(s) and let them know that the matter has been resolved. They may require some documentation that this has been done, so be sure to ask the State about that as well.

Good luck, Nosy One. See you on the chain gang.

Reply:I know it was 5 disputes in about a year, probably a couple of months between each. I would get their "remains " letter then write another dispute about a month later. Btw have you considered doing an online dispute(if they let you)? I know it's not what your supposed to do but hey whatever works right?

Reply:Jack 1212 — Yes, I have an actual copy from the clerk's office. And unfortunately everything matches.
Ene82 — How much time in between each your 5 disputes ? ( I don't want to get "frivolous")
A_Johnson1972 — I mentioned getting a vacate through the court to the creditor (she was not a nice lady at all) and she said I would have to go through the court and then they would come to her dept and if that was granted it would be them saying that they did this judgement in error & the $$ would have to be refunded to me and she was not about to do that. I was about to call her supervisor & am still thinking about it.
With this info any more suggestions or strategies? Maybe write a letter to the courts anyways?
Thanks,
Kelly

Reply: Some posters have reported that CRA's are using PACER to verify judgments now, as there was no other way, except the CRA's calling clerks offices all day.
However, i see that PACER would take a lot of their time to lookup. I can't see them logically using it on every single dispute.
I have a letter from my district court office saying they do NOT verify with the CRAs.
I sent that letter with a letter that basically said, "if you're not verifying with with clerk, then who is providing you with this info"? 1 part dispute, 1 part PR…. still didn't get me far
Don't feel so bad Jen, I had to log a BBB complaint against TU because they kept sending me a "general" PR when I asked for specific name/address/phone number etc. That's when TU replied that they said they used "Pacer"

Reply: You can ask the court for a "motion to vacate". They normally will vacate without a problem.
You can contact the creditor and ask them to delete it.
Judgments can only be vacated in accordance with the Rules for the particular jurisdiction. In OP's case, it would appear that the time limitation under which the Court retains jurisdiction will have LONG SINCE lapsed…
Further, a creditor is not the party responsible for the placement of the public record (key word there being PUBLIC).
I can't see them logically using it on every single dispute.
And this is where I get stuck. TU did that with me (bankruptcy) Tax lien they removed no problem, probably because it was no longer on Pacer? <Shrug> Who knows.
I'm having a hard time writing up a dispute against using Pacer, since while it technically isn't going directly to the DF to verify, courts use Pacer to keep all their information on cases/judgements/bankruptcy's etc.

Reply: keep disputing, took us about 5 times before 1 finally came off.(we still have 2 to go, one scheduled to fall off in Oct. will see if it happens.) Maybe this time you should not black anything out. I think I am going to try that on the next dispute.
Are you saying you disputed 5 times with EXPERIAN? And it then came off? I am up to 3 times on this one. lol
Yes 5x with EX, and finally came off. I almost felt like i should have a party after I looked at their response "Deleted"
LOL I"M up to 3 as well.
1st dispute: We can't identify who you are
2nd: We don't think the letters came from you
3rd: We can't identify who you are (Just got in the mail even tho I sent a copy of my State ID *Don't drive* & the first page of my Utility bill with the account number blacked out/amount owed Certified Mail.
Somewhere between 2nd & 3rd dispute I did dispute an account on-line (out of desperation,& I didn't plan on taking this account to an attorney. However the more I think about it, I also did it as a test) and it came right off no problem. In fact I think I did a post about it earlier this month!
I sent BBB complaints last night as well as FTC complaints and found someone in their "Legal" department to write a complaint to this weekend and will send that one CMRR, we'll see what happens. I basically told BBB & FTC I was getting tired of there "Stall Tactics" and wanted my items investigated. Yet when I disputed something on-line, they had no problem "Identifying who I was", it was only when mailing in a dispute.
BBB has forwarded my complaint to Experian, but honestly I think it will just be ignored, which is also why I'm writing to their legal counsel this weekend for Monday's mail.
Ours came off with an online dispute as well, I was shocked (they never take anything off with online disputes always came back as verified)

Reply:If it was previously verified, wouldn't it have said "Item verified and updated in 2009?" Instead of 2008? Does it have "disputed by consumer?

Reply:Keep disputing. I had similar responses with 2 public records. Eventually they were both removed.

Reply:Did you get an actual copy from the clerks office?
Does the information match up with the CRA reports?

Reply:This is EXACTLY what EX shows for my Public Record — Any suggestions?
Status: Small claims paid.
Status Details:
This item is scheduled to continue on record until Mar 2011.
This item was verified and updated on Nov 2008.

Best Answer: Disputing over the phone rarely works.
You need to send a letter of verification to the collector.
Send it certified mail. Do not sign any document, or hand write the envelope. Google "letter of verification" for a sample letter to send.

Wait 30 days. If they don't respond, you must send a second letter of verification. Wait 15 days from the date they received it.
Keep documentation!
If they don't respond after 45 days, then call one of the credit bureaus and ask them what they need to remove it from your file.
The collector will be required to remove it from all three credit bureaus.

Don't give up and don't back down.
Keep a paper trail.

Reply:I can't blame the CRA for wanting to know you are really you before changing your file. When they requested my ID and utility bill I sent it the very same day.

Reply:That has happened to me and DH a total of 2 times.I just sent in a package with copies of our I.D.'s.In that letter it asked for items to identify you and I was pretty upset because I wasted money twice sending via certified mail.

Reply:I would send in your identifying info, ID and proof of address to EX when you send it back in. I'm surprized they didn't request it, never seen a statement like that before.

Reply:First dispute in a while, I did a credit clean up using these boards 18 months- 2 years ago. I had my name, address and ssn on the letter. My address has changed- I got a letter from Transunion asking for a utility bill to verify address.

Reply:was this your first dispute? Did you put your ssn and address on the dispute letter?

Advanta business card application is no room for a tax ID, the card will show on my personal credit report? I just want it to report on my business. Thank you!

Best Answer: go to the website and set up an online access account. then once you set up online access, you have to go to "make a payment" and link your bank account. the initial setup is a pain but after you're set up, it really is much easier and faster and convenient to pay it online. i have been using online banking and bill payment for over 10 years. sometimes you can wait until the due date to pay it.

Reply:My business is an LLC and I was require to PG my application for the business card. ON the application it does not ask for your tax id but it does ask for your SSN. That is why they pull your personal credit as part of the application process. If you are approved then the balance is not reported on your personal credit unless you default. There are some business credit cards they do not require a PG but all the ones that I have do require a PG.

Reply:All "Sole Proprietor" Business accounts are personally guaranteed (your SSN is your tax id).

Reply: Nope, mine doesn't show. However the card is personally guaranteed and they will pull a credit bureau upon applicatiion…
Which Business cards are not personally guarenteed? I was under the impression that all fo them were for new businesses.

Reply:Nope, mine doesn't show. However the card is personally guaranteed and they will pull a credit bureau upon applicatiion…

Reply:It does not show on my personal credit.

Reply: doesnt show unless you defaultThanks!
What "default" causes it to show? If I forget to mail a payment for one month will it show, or will they just charge me a late fee? Do they have auto withdrawls for minimum payment?

Reply:doesnt show unless you default
