FICO is his 740th What do we do now? We did not even need the increase. We were just padding our bank account if payment date was delayed. I'm freaking. What we do? Help?

Reply:
Yep, that's only $30/year. But if you really want to get another card, you can check out Citi Simplicity at 0% on purchases and BT for 12 months capped at $75 or the Citi Professional at 0% on BT and purchases for 12 months capped at $50. I don't suggest carrying a balance with Chase.
There's a BT cap on simplicity? I missed that.
Taken from the Terms and Conditions website of Simplicity:
" Transaction fee for balance transfers: 3 % of the amount of each balance transfer, $5 minimum, $75 maximum. "

Reply:OVER-PAY IS THE ONLY WAY TO ELIMINATE THE CASH ADVANCE

Reply: going to use the zero balance card and he used the WaMu instead because "it was in the front of my wallet."
never carry cards that have high balances unless you really plan to use them… stick them in the drawer until paid off.

Reply: Okay, that's a relief! Nah, I didn't yell at him. I rolled my eyes a little because we had agreed he was going to use the zero balance card and he used the WaMu instead because "it was in the front of my wallet." The he said it didn't matter because we were going to pay back the $100 right away and it wouldn't be an issue. When it comes to credit cards I never yell. I just sit up at 3am biting my fingernails. Thank you all! I appreciate the advice on cards, too.
Oh, that being said, DH and I both have WaMu (formerly Providian) cards. I have a 9.99% APR and his is substantially higher, only his FICO is 100 points better than mine. Should he call and ask for a lower APR?
I would ask them to reduce the apr… With a 740 score he shouldn't have to suffer with a crappy rate. There are too many other credit card companies that would treat him better than that. that

Reply:jump on one of the boa mbna cards 75 dollars up front in your first statement and 12 months at o%

Reply: I thought it was $30 a month on top of what we're already paying in interest.Nope APR = Annual percentage rate, $2.50 per month give or take depending on the APR.
Now go say sorry to your hubby for yelling at him!!

Not the entire balance, how to transfer a balance, but a part of it.
Just wonder if you can use credit card A to B to pay credit card if the conditions are more favorable to A.

Best Answer: yes, I have a paypal account and no credit card. All you need is a bank account. set up an account with your bank account and paypal deposit a small amount into it to verify the account and thats it

Reply:Also keep in mind that there is normally a balance transfer fee.

Reply: I do not believe you would be able to call up Card A and give them the number for Card B. You could do it as an online transfer or via convenience check, but that is likely the only two methods that would be available to you.
And you can't say "use this for all the purchases made by the AU card". It generally applies to the oldest purchases first (or the ones with the lowest int rate), so if the primary lets the account go bad and they try to collect from you (for your usage), you'll have to prove you paid off the purchases you made.

Reply: Sorry to hajacking your thread OP but I also want to know if I can transfer my best buycard to my new hsbc since and 0% for the next 6 months on balance transfers.
Thanks again.
You can do a BT on the BB but keep in mind that some issuers won't allow you to BT another card they issue. Either use the checks HSBC sends or log into their website and set it up.

Reply:Could I do this with a card I am just an AU on? I want to pay a portion on a card I am an AU on with a card that is solely in my name.

Reply: Im planning on paying a portion of the balance on a card I am an AU on.
I was hoping I could just call the company, and pay it with a different card. It doesnt work that way?
You don't have to pay the entire balance with a BT. With most cards, you can go to online access type in the amount and name of creditor to pay.

Reply:I think you can order balance transfer checks and pay whom ever for whatever amounts.
If you have a balance transfer offer, please contact us by email, you want to use, then you see the balance transfer instructions and the data you transfer your balance offer
Please come later to be seen again in the coming months, take received when an online balance transfer offer for your account. “
UGH! Please please please tell me that this is only because I just activated my card and signed online today.
Did one of you the same message u0026 receive a BT online option later? (Soon?) Or . maybe they will do mail me some mail? Or am I just screwed and doomed to understand with a nice Indian CSR with a terribly difficult Chat strong accent?
Or . I'm completely wrong, because it is impossible to BT anyway from a Dell account to a visa WaMu?
Please please advice ~ Thanks in advance

Reply:Thanks for the FYI On the BT checks too! I'm a bit embarrassed to be so naive … I didn't even know I could request them not that "people" couldn't ~ but that "I" couldn't. I'm so thrilled to have the chances CB has given me.
I'm still very new at credit cards (I only had store cards in my 20's, ew and one BofA card gone bad) and then lived on cash for about 5 years, so I'm still learning & thanks so much for the help & patience for my dumb questions. I'd be flat lost without CB

Reply:Wamu loves to send BT checks. It seems that I get some every week with my 2 accts. You'll probably receive some soon. I would give them a call during weekdays and make the BT, and maybe you won't get India.

Reply:The 0% bt is good for 90 days with my offer.Look over your terms, and see
how much time to do a bt you have. I remember when I got my Wamu
Visa last year, they sent some checks later (0% bt). I'd ask
for some( to be on the safe side) if you need them.

Reply: You should get a welcome package with bt checks in it. I just got the ESPN card, and same thing happened
to me, but I already had the welcome pack with checks.
Thanks for responding & "oh phooey" LOL! I didn't get any BT checks in my original welcome package darn it I got the welcome package about 2 days before the card came. So is there "another" maybe 2nd welcome package perhaps?

Reply:edit, nevermind, I found the site! Thank you very much.

Reply:Associated Bank Visa offers a 12 month NO fee BT at 0%. www dot associatedvisa dot com. It is underwritten by Citi.

Reply:She hates them, so I doubt that could ever happen. They screwed her out of $200 one time. She also hates Discover because they rate-jacked her, so she will probably only want a Visa/Mastercard. I need to get in my Great Aunt's good books, so she can be my loan officer.

Reply: I think the Chase Platinum Visa is a good idea. o% for 12 months. max=$99 fee. She will save $300, so that's pretty good. She has been closing her cards lately, so it will help that she already has a relationship with Chase.
And don't do a BT TO an American Express card. I'd stay away from that scenario.

Reply:I wish I had a high enough limit on my Capital One card. They are offering me a no fee, no interest for the life of the transfer right now.

Reply: Her credit card at the CU is a fixed 7%. She gets 7% on cash advances and everything. (I wish I lived where she does.) My great Aunt is the loan officer at that CU. I agree with you on the low rate for the life thing. Which issuers do that?
I haven't looked for them recently, but they are out there. I did a 3.9% for life deal with CCCU a few weeks ago it had no BT fee. Their offer for new members though is 2.9% for 18 months.

Reply:Its worth it. IF she has low balances on other cards, she could get another BT card on what ever balance is left after the promo ends.. too much planning is involved in this game…

Reply: My thinking is that she will save so much over that year, she can transfer it back, and pay the 7% again. She will be paying the 7% on a much smaller balance then. Right now she's paying $40 a month in interest. If she pays a $99 fee to transfer, and saves $500 for that year, then transfers back, she has save about $300. I think that's worth the trouble don't you?
No I don't. I think it's better to find a BT for life deal at like 2.9% – 4.9% or so. Just my opinion. Who is to say that card is still at 7% next year? Maybe she gets stuck with a higher rate either way, maybe she doesn't… Just one opinion though, I'm sure others will chime in to counter it…

Reply:My thinking is that she will save so much over that year, she can transfer it back, and pay the 7% again. She will be paying the 7% on a much smaller balance then. I think that's worth the trouble don't you?

Reply:If she isn't going to have it paid off in the BT period and the BT to card has a higher go to APR then you could be doing a disservice to her.
7% really isn't that bad. Calculate in the 3% to BT and a likely higher go to APR and this may be a bad move unless you can find her a 2.9% or so BT for life of the transfer deal…

Reply:No she doesn't. The reason I'm trying to save her some money is because she is elderly, and living on a limited income. I don't think she needs to spend it lining the pockets of the bank. She probably makes about 30g a year. She used to have a Chase and an American Express, so maybe those are some options. Some of the offers I've looked at are higher than her regular interest rate, and they are supposed to be introductory, LOL.

Reply: I need to find a good balance transfer card for my Grandma. She has about $6,000 on her CU card right now at 7% APR. I have told her she needs to find a good balance transfer card, and stop paying those finance charges. I am looking for a card that offers 0% for the longest period possible to help her out. Do you guys have any suggestions? She has excellent credit, so any issuer will work.
Chase is offering some good deals right now. Citi usually does as well.
Does grandma have her own business? If she does, she should get a business card.
